A Cinematic Journey Born on the Canals of Venice
Filmed entirely on location in Venice, LIMONE tells the story of Marino, a water taxi captain on the verge of disappearing into the sea—until a series of unexpected encounters offers him a reason to stay. With themes of grief, absurdity, and quiet redemption, the story explores how the smallest human moments can pull us back from the edge.

Starring an all-Italian cast performing in English, the film was shot aboard real Venetian water taxis and throughout the winding canals of the city, creating a visually immersive experience rooted in both intimacy and grandeur.
Behind the Camera
LIMONE was led creatively by award-winning filmmaker Sohrab Mirmont, whom previously produced the Cannes hit "Riddle of Fire" with cinematography by award-winning DP Oscar Ignacio Jimenez, whose previous work has premiered at Sundance, Tribeca, and beyond.
Founded in 2005, Mirmont Pictures has been a champion of independent cinema with a focus on heartfelt storytelling, cultural nuance, and visual elegance. LIMONE continues that tradition while marking a bold new step toward feature development.
A Short Film With a Bigger Vision

While LIMONE stands on its own as a short film, it was created as a proof of concept for the feature-length version now in development. With the teaser now live, the film team is excited to begin sharing the world of LIMONE with a wider audience—and to build the momentum toward realizing the full feature film.
“This is the most profound story I’ve told,” says Mirmont. “It’s about loss, and the strange, quiet beauty of second chances, set against the most beautiful backdrops of Venice.”
