LIMONE Officially Selected for Rome International Film Festival

The short film Limone, written and directed by Sohrab Mirmont, has been selected to screen at the Rome International Film Festival, taking place November 6–9, 2025. Shot entirely on location in Venice, Italy, Limone originally served as a proof-of-concept for a planned feature film and will be presented by its creative team at the festival.

About the Film
Limone is written and directed by Sohrab Mirmont, an award-winning filmmaker and nephew of acclaimed Iranian auteur Abbas Kiarostami. The project continues Mirmont Pictures’ development of the Limone intellectual property as a feature, with this short intended to engage investors, distributors, and audiences worldwide.

The film stars Giovanni Funiati, who recently portrayed Giacomo Casanova in No One Will Know (Le Roi Soleil), which premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Funiati is also recognized for his role in the international Netflix series Sisi.
The cast also features:

Alessandro Bressanello, a veteran Italian actor with over 80 screen credits, including Paolo Sorrentino’s The Hand of God and Netflix’s Maria, alongside Angelina Jolie.
Alberto Vecchiato, a rising Venetian actor, known for roles in Netflix projects such as The Empress (2022) and Mike (2024).
Cinematography is by Oscar Ignacio Jiménez, recipient of the ASC Student Heritage Award, whose work has been featured at Sundance and the New York Film Festival.
Production

LIMONE was produced by Sohrab Mirmont and Christine Ahanotu, a former
producer with Warner Bros. Entertainment. Co-producers include Brandon Cummings and Brooks Forester,
Executive Producers include Allan & Donna Arcand, Brandon Cummings, Sohrab Mirmont and Brianna Davis.
The film’s primary production company is Mirmont Pictures, with Ahanotu’s Apricitá Pictures serving as co-production company. The project also received limited in-kind support from local Utah-based vendors during production, where Mirmont Pictures is based.
Director Sohrab Mirmont will be in attendance at RIFF for screenings, Q&As, and networking events.
About Sohrab Mirmont

Sohrab Mirmont is an award-winning filmmaker whose career bridges narrative cinema, documentary, and advertising.
Mirmont produced Riddle of Fire, which premiered at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival to a ten-minute standing ovation.
He directed two BBC documentaries that have collectively garnered over 1.5 billion views online, cementing his ability to reach global audiences.
Mirmont has embraced teaching, giving lectures and workshops at institutions like UCLA, Comic Con, the Utah Film Center, Sundance Film Festival, among others.
His extensive work in advertising follows the tradition of filmmakers like Kiarostami, Ridley Scott, and Michael Bay, blending cinematic storytelling with brand campaigns. His long-form, short-film–style social media content has led him to direct projects with Robert Redford, Liam Neeson, Jonathan Roumie, Jim Caviezel, and Dita Von Teese, among others.
Mirmont has dedicated part of his career to volunteer work in Cambodia. Since 2017, he has collaborated with Vision Cambodia, using film to raise awareness and funding that has helped provide tens of thousands of people with access to clean drinking water, education, and infrastructure.
