Award-Winning Short Film LIMONE to Screen at Utah Film Center as Part of “Made in Utah” Film Series

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Director Sohrab Mirmont to attend screening and participate in post-film panel discussion

Salt Lake City, UT — Following its Top Jury Prize win at the Rome International Film Festival and a recent Los Angeles screening through HollyShorts, LIMONE, the award-winning short film written and directed by Utah-based filmmaker Sohrab Mirmont, will screen on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at the Utah Film Center.

The screening will take place from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Utah Film Center’s Black Box theater and will be followed by a post-film panel discussion and Q&A. Mirmont will be in attendance to discuss the film, its festival journey, and its role as a proof of concept for an upcoming feature film currently in development.

Curated by the Utah Film Center as part of its ongoing exhibition programming celebrating independent and locally connected filmmakers, the event highlights LIMONE’s continued momentum on the international festival circuit while bringing the film home to a Utah audience.

Filmed entirely on location in Venice, Italy, LIMONE follows Marino, a weathered Venetian water-taxi captain navigating grief, redemption, and human connection amid the city’s historic canals. The short film serves as a proof of concept for a feature-length version, offering audiences an intimate and cinematic glimpse into the world and themes of the larger project.

“Screening LIMONE at the Utah Film Center is especially meaningful,” said Mirmont. “Utah has been a creative home base for much of my career, and sharing the film with this community—after its international run—feels like closing a meaningful loop.”

The screening is open to the public, and advance registration is encouraged. Attendees can reserve tickets and find additional event details through the Utah Film Center’s official website and event registration page.
